John Gohring is a Senior Analyst for GIC whose responsibilities include market research and analysis for GIC Consulting Services and financial analysis for GIC Financial Services. Mr. Gohring also serves as the Managing Director of the Virginia Apple Trading Company, overseeing the marketing and technical assistance aspects of export promotion to Central America and the Caribbean.
Prior to joining GIC Group, Mr. Gohring worked as an independent consultant to economic development projects in Central America. Over the past few years, he has evaluated SME finance facilities, recommended innovative solutions for small-scale agribusiness financing, and built capacity for local development organizations. His background also includes working as an Analyst with the California Department of Industrial Relations.
Mr. Gohring holds a MA in Development Economics and International Finance from the Fletcher School, Tufts University and a BA in History from the University of Oregon. He is proficient in Spanish.
