Backround on GIC
The GIC Group is an international
firm serving the investment, finance, analytical, and management needs
of companies and organizations involved in agribusiness, biotechnology,
and global trade. The GIC Group is based in Alexandria, Virginia;
maintains a fully staffed office in New Delhi, India; and currently has
projects in 12 countries.
GIC Agricultural Group was
established in 1980. The company expanded to include GIC Trade, Inc.,
its international trade arm, in 1986. GIC consolidated its operations
as The GIC Group in 1994, and established GIC India in 1996. We maintain
a staff of highly skilled professionals in finance and investment, trade,
market research and intelligence, strategic planning, and management.
GIC's
client base is approximately 75 percent private sector, with the remainder
including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the World
Bank and regional development banks, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency,
and state and local agencies in the U.S. and overseas. Private sector
clients include Fortune 100 companies, greenfield ventures, small to medium
sized manufacturers and exporters, and trade associations.
GIC's mission is to provide
integrated investment, finance and trade services worldwide. Our
core activity is agribusiness but the expanded range of our services reflects
the structural changes in the industry. Our goal is to transform
commercial objectives into profitable realities. To that end, we
offer one-stop assistance to insure the success of the project and the
profitability of the venture.
