Richard Gilmore

Rick Gilmore, President/CEO, founded GIC Trade, Inc./GIC Group in 1980. He has a PhD in trade economics and extensive experience in policy analysis, trade, investment, and market research for agro-industries. Dr. Gilmore has served as a member of the Presidential Business Development Missions under late Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown's leadership. He formerly served as Senior Economist on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where his responsibilities included drafting legislation, committee investigations, analysis and report writing concerning trade and investment issues, and U.S. foreign assistance programs. Subsequently, he was a Rockefeller Fellow and wrote and edited books and several articles. His most recent articles have been devoted to ag biotech issues. Dr. Gilmore has also worked as a Trade Economist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service, Foreign Trade and Development Section.

Financial Services

Jacinto Peralta Ramos, Director

Jacinto Peralta Ramos joined GIC in July 2002 as Director of Financial Services.  His main responsibilities include serving as Deputy Trustee for Bayer/Aventis; advising clients in relation to financial services, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and private placements; and developing new business, such as a distressed assets investment vehicle for Latin America.

Mr. Peralta Ramos, an Argentine citizen, has solid experience in both agribusiness and the financial services industry.  He has formerly served in the Investor Relations group at Banco Galicia, Argentina’s largest private sector bank, and in the Equity Research group at Santander Central Hispano Investment Securities, the New York-based investment banking division of Spain's largest bank.  He has also worked in his family ranch for over ten years, as well as in the Business Development group at Monsanto Company.

Investor Relations and Corporate Business Development

Daniel Secondi, Senior Financial Analyst and Business Development Director

Mr. Secondi is GIC's Senior Financial Analyst and Director of Business Development for Latin America. His current responsibilities include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private placements, financial analysis, due diligence, and commercial intelligence for GIC's projects in Latin America and the U.S. As senior analyst and marketing specialist for Latin America, Mr. Secondi is also part of the management team for GIC's 21st Century Agribusiness and Ag Biotech Private Equity Fund, Latin America.
Previously, Mr. Secondi was a Regional Manager of an Agricultural Investment Fund for GIC's partner, Cazenave y Asociados, S.A., the largest agribusiness consulting firm in Argentina. He also worked for Cazenave for nine years as a consultant in agribusiness, financial analysis, fund management and supervision, strategic planning, and task coordination. He has a Master's Degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Henry R. Winogrond, Management and Operations

Mr. Winogrond is a senior agribusiness management executive with 35 years of experience in agroenterprise management and development in North America, Asia, and Latin America.
Mr. Winogrond's work experience includes serving as Controller/Operations Manager for Castle & Cooke/Dole in Latin America and Managing Director in the Philippines. He was Executive Vice President of Natural Pak Produce and President of Southern Rainbow Corporation. Previous responsibilities included management and finance, agricultural investment promotion, production systems, agricultural marketing, crop diversification, logistics/distribution, ag-specific IT, and postharvest operations.

Rob Floyd

Marketing and Research

Tom Fromme

Mr. Fromme brings extensive experience in Research, production, and the business of agriculture to The GIC Group. A long association with input suppliers and producers in the U.S. and Latin America serves as a basis for market and industry assessments, economic and trade analysis, commercial intelligence, and financial analysis for GIC clients. Recent activities include a study of Identity Preservation (IP) and value-added aspects of commodity production.

Robert Tisch, Project Director

Mr. Tisch is the Project Director of Export Promotion Services for the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. He has had 35 years of experience in the Horticultural & Tropical Products Division of the Foreign Agricultural Service/USDA, working with the U.S. horticultural product industry (fruit, vegetable, wine, tree nut, and nursery products) in the areas of market development, strategic planning, evaluation, and supply demand analysis.
As Deputy Director of Marketing with FAS, he oversaw the development of the Strategic Plan, Unified Export Strategy, and the evaluation of horticultural product industry market development proposals. He was instrumental in helping create the California Agricultural Export Council, an organization that helped small agricultural companies identify and develop overseas markets for their products and obtain MAP funds for export promotion. As a marketing specialist he identified foreign markets for U.S. horticultural product exports. As a commodity analyst he evaluated competitive developments in the world horticultural product market. He has traveled to more than 35 countries on behalf of the horticultural product industry.

Juan Solana, Director

Juan Solana is GIC's Director of Market Research. Dr. Solana has extensive experience in consulting in international business strategy, industry analysis, growth strategy for food, agribusiness, biotech and pharmaceutical companies. He has been involved with The GIC Group since 1998 as project director for key international projects related to investment in the food and agribusiness industries and the marketing and promotion of the 21st Century Private Equity Fund.
Dr. Solana received a Ph.D. in International Trade, Industrial Organization and Competitive Analysis and an M.S. in International Economics from Purdue University, as well as a B.S. from Universidad Complutense in Madrid (Spain). He has consulted for several companies on international growth strategy in the biotechnology and beverage industries and has worked for such global companies as Louis Dreyfus and Quintiles Transnational.

William W. Prewitt, Research Analyst

Mr. Prewitt is a Research Analyst for The GIC Group. His responsibilities include market and industry assessments, economic and trade analysis, and commercial intelligence, as well as financial analysis for GIC investment services/products.

A native Texan, Mr. Prewitt is also responsible for GIC's marketing and promotional activities in Texas. He works on GIC's Export Promotion projects, and is currently involved in facilitating the sale of U.S. Agricultural Products to Cuba. Mr. Prewitt's recently completed work includes The U.S. Tofu Market, a Market Analysis.

Administration

Anne H. Sansbury

Ms. Sansbury serves as Administrator for The GIC Group where her responsibilities include project management, and liaison and billing activities for public and private sector projects. She also assists with technical editing and preparation of project documents, including investment proposals to the International Finance Corporation and the World Bank, and USAID reports.
