GIC Group was established in 1980 to provide investment and financial services to agribusiness companies worldwide. Since then, our services have expanded as
biotechnology, consolidation, vertical integration, and globalization have put their stamp on agricultural production, marketing, and distribution of products and information. Our core
activity is agribusiness but the expanded range of our services reflects the structural changes in the industry. From offices in Alexandria, Virginia, the GIC Group enjoys close association with
agribusiness professionals worldwide who provide GIC Group with regional industry and market information, and support for GIC Group in-country activities. The scale and scope of
client projects can be accommodated, whether the focus is domestic or global.
GIC's
client base is approximately 75 percent private sector, including ITOCHU, Bayer, Syngenta, Novartis, Nichino America Inc., the International Finance Corporation,
the U.S. Grains Council , and the American Soybean Association. Public sector clients include the U.S. Agency for International
Development (USAID), the World Bank and regional development
banks, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, and state and local
agencies in the U.S. and overseas.

and institutions to invest in the purchase, management, restructure,
and ultimate divestiture of eligible distressed assets in Latin
America.
- Trustee for two Federal Trade Commission (FTC)-imposed divestitures of certain assets sold to Bayer for the United States and Canada, and Syngenta.

- International Business Advisory Network (IBAN), NESsT, an international philanthropic, non-profit organizatIon providing financing and financial and management services to civil society organizations worldwide.
- Working with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) to establish markets for Virginia products in various regions of the world.
In the course of recent transactions, GIC has provided services:
1) to develop suitable financials and business plans for presentations to corporate investors and institutional lenders; 2) to structure the deal; 3) to develop a financing strategy; and 4) to source equity and debt financing.
